São Jorge is a parish of the Santana municipality, on Madeira's north coast, known for its São Jorge lighthouse (one of the oldest on the island), dramatic cliffs over the Atlantic and Quinta do Arco — Portugal's largest rose garden, with over 1,700 rose varieties. The parish borders the fajãs of Boaventura and extends up to the viewpoints over Ponta de São Jorge and Cascalho. It is an area of lush green pastures, small farms and landscapes typical of rural Madeira.
