About Santa Cruz das Flores
Santa Cruz das Flores is the main town of Flores island — the westernmost island of Europe and one of the greenest in the Azores, classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The municipality includes Flores Airport, the famous Ribeira Grande waterfalls and the Seven Lakes (Funda, Rasa, Comprida, Seca, Branca, Negra and Lomba). The landscape is dominated by blue and purple hydrangeas that bloom in June and July, covering hillsides and roads.
