About Caminha
Caminha is an Alto Minho town set where the Minho river meets the Atlantic, right on the border with Galicia, Spain. Its historic centre preserves the medieval Clock Tower, the Manueline Main Church and ancient streets telling a thousand years of history. Vila Praia de Âncora, in the same municipality, offers one of the Alto Minho's best beaches, sheltered by the mouth of the Âncora river, plus the Barrosa Dolmen — one of the most important megalithic monuments of the northwestern Peninsula — and the Cão Fort.
