Vila do Corvo is the only settlement on Corvo — the smallest and most remote inhabited island in the European Union, with fewer than 400 residents. The entire island is dwarfed by the spectacular Caldeirão, a vast caldera whose floor is dotted with small lakes and cattle pastures. A place of utter tranquillity at the far western edge of Europe, where the next land is North America.
