Seixal is one of the jewels of Madeira's wild north coast — the village is backed by towering basalt cliffs with waterfalls tumbling down to the sea and fronted by a rare black sand beach lapped by the Atlantic. The dramatic Véu da Noiva waterfall cascades close to the village and the surrounding levada walks through laurisilva forest are among the most beautiful on the island.
